What it does

GISSpace propagates close to 16,000 active satellites in your browser and drapes the live space weather over the same globe: Kp index, solar wind, NOAA scales, the aurora oval forecast, asteroid close approaches and upcoming launches. The ISS, Hubble and the Sentinel and Landsat fleets carry their ground track and mission sheet.

The globe is public, free and needs no account. The orbits are not a video: they are computed on your device, from the same orbital elements professionals use, and the scene stays live as long as you watch it.

GISSpace: Space weather and orbital traffic, live on one globe.
  • Every active satellite live, Starlink and featured missions included
  • Kp index, solar wind and NOAA scales, refreshed continuously
  • Asteroid close approaches and the next launches, on the same screen

Who it serves

  • Satellite operators and ground-station teams
  • Aviation on polar routes
  • HF communications and GNSS-dependent operations
  • Power-grid operators watching geomagnetic storms
  • Astronomers and aurora chasers
  • Educators and the public: free, no sign-up

The science behind it

Every orbit is propagated with SGP4, the standard model of the field, from CelesTrak's published orbital elements, computed in your browser rather than pre-rendered. The aurora oval is NOAA's OVATION forecast, draped on the globe cell by cell.

Nothing on the globe is invented: every layer names its source, and the credits page documents the method and its limits, down to the refresh cadence of each feed.
